Scottishcraft.com was setup in 2006 as an online shop selling high quality handmade products from around Scotland.
Since then the site has attracted much attention from around the world. As well as selling products direct to customers, the site receives many enquiries from people wishing to source particular products from individual regions across Scotland.
One such enquiry came from Paramount Pictures, Los Angeles at 6.30 am on a Saturday morning. The studio purchased several pendants for the Scottish character 'McCullen' in the 2009 blockbuster 'GI Joe'. Unfortunately the director opted for custom made props for the final cut!
In 2009 the site has undergone a revamp to offer a shop window to a wider range of Scotland's art, craft and design community. The site will make it easier for individual businesses to promote their products and bring visitors to their own websites. Typically marketing is one of the biggest challenges facing individuals running small craft and design businesses.
Owner of Scottishcraft.com, Stuart Russell, has many years of internet experience on high profile websites. He also runs FindNetworkingEvents.com, one of the UKs leading business networking sites. The site receives thousands of visitors a month and has many page 1 rankings in Google.
With this knowledge and experience, Scottishcraft.com aims to become the number one site for the art, craft and design sector in Scotland.
